Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year MIG welding experience preferred.
  • Interpret complex structural blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and steady hand for quality welding.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.

Responsibilities

  • MIG weld on mild steel (20 gauge to 1 inch) and fabricate components.
  • Produce accurate, durable parts following specifications.
  • Interpret welding symbols and blueprints for precise setups.
  • Support certifications such as D1.1 and D1.3 as part of training.
  • Operate finishing tools like grinders and abrasives to meet quality standards.
  • Operate lifting devices safely and efficiently.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record and adaptability to changing needs.

Join Our Expert Welding Team at Standard Iron. We are a custom metal fabrication, welding, and finishing company seeking skilled welders to join our 2nd shift team. Key Responsibilities
  • MIG Welding: Perform MIG welding on mild steel, with material thicknesses ranging from 20 gauge to 1 inch. Cut, bend, and fabricate components as needed.
  • High-Quality Fabrication: Produce accurate, durable components following detailed instructions and specifications.
  • Certification Support: Support achieving certifications such as D1.1 GMAW and D1.3 GMAW as part of training.
  • Blueprint Reading: Interpret welding symbols and blueprints to ensure precise setups and welds.
  • Tool Mastery: Use a variety of finishing tools, including grinders and abrasives, to meet high standards.
  • Safe Equipment Operation: Operate lifting devices such as cranes, positioners, magnets, and hooks safely and efficiently.
  • Self-Motivated: Demonstrate a proven track record and the ability to adapt to changing needs.

  • Blueprint Analysis: Interpret complex structural blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols accurately.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, steady hand, and passion for quality welding.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to handle repetitive tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Schedule
  • 2nd Shift — Monday to Wednesday, 4:30pm – 5:00am. Three 12-hour shifts (36 hours) with compensation for a full 40-hour week.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive Pay: $24.45 - $36.68 per hour, based on experience and skills. 15% differential for 2nd Shift.
  • Sign-On Bonus: $3,000 for 2nd Shift Welders and Machine Operators.
