Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate composite structures from carbon fiber.
  • Set up and sequence operations on molding machines and controls.
  • Monitor adjustments to ensure quality hardware.
  • Mix paints and lacquers per specs.
  • Operate spray painting equipment and perform touch-ups.

You will be a Fabricator for the Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) team. Our team is responsible for applying finish protective coatings, fabricating composite structures, and operating various processing equipment to produce high-quality products.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Fabricator, you will be responsible for applying protective coatings, operating processing equipment, and fabricating composite structures to meet quality and production standards. You will work with a variety of materials, including carbon fiber, plastics, and metals, and use various equipment, such as spray guns, brushes, and sandblasters.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Applying finish protective coatings, both air dry and baked, using spray guns and/or brushes
  • Operating sandblaster or tumble blast equipment for removal of scale, flux, corrosion, and dirt from materials or parts
  • Fabricating composite structures using carbon fiber material
  • Setting up, planning, and proving the sequence of operations on injection molding machines and related controls
  • Monitoring and performing required adjustments to ensure acceptable hardware is produced
  • Mixing paints, lacquers, and enamels and thinning to consistency stipulated in company or customer specifications
  • Operating spray painting equipment and performing touch-up and rework with spray gun and/or brushes

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

Must have the ability to work 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or "3/12 Weekend" shifts as required in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between Lockheed Martin and the UAW.

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees and management. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time day(s) away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Employee will be required to work multiple shifts and schedules per the UAW Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Basic Qualifications
  • Must have the ability to work 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift or 3x12 weekend schedule - as required in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Experience in carbon fiber pre-preg layup, torque tools.
  • Ability to operate Powered Industrial Vehicles/Trucks (PIT/V) and wear a respirator.
  • Ability to operate an Autoclave and work in confined spaces and clean rooms.
  • Ability to operate sandblaster and tumble blast equipment.
  • Ability to work with carbon fiber material in the fabrication of composite structures and/or the ability to apply finish protective coatings, spray guns and/or brushes, operates spray painting equip, optical bonding fabrication, injection molding machines, ablative processing equipment, tape-wrapper, bonding, mixes paints, lacquers.
  • Must be a U.S citizen and have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Desired Skills
  • Technical school training in auto painting, precision masking/cutting operations and or carbon fabrication.
  • Experience with Laser projection systems.
  • Experience with Cutting Tables or CNC Machines and rotary cutting lasers.
  • Experience as a composite assembler.
  • Strong math/geometry skills.
  • Previous fiberglass application with gel coat experience.
Pay Information
  • $23.92 - $40.93
