Job summary

Lockheed Martin seeks a skilled Fabricator to build and assemble plastic, ceramic and composite products, following blueprints and process sheets to assemble precise components.

You will operate cutting and trimming equipment, perform finishing tasks, and maintain safe, organized work areas while complying with licenses and training requirements. This role supports aerospace manufacturing across shifts.

Qualifications

  • Must demonstrate entry level blueprint and technical data comprehension.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of process specifications.
  • One year of experience in Composite Fabrication or Aerospace Fabrication certification.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricates, cures, builds up and assembles plastic, ceramic and composite parts per specs.
  • Works from blueprints, templates, sample parts and process sheets.
  • Operates cutting and trimming equipment to achieve finished tolerances.
  • Performs finishing operations and installs fasteners.
  • Maintains a clean, organized work area and proper records.

Where required information is readily available, methods and sequences have been predetermined and tooling is provided; works to blueprints, templates, sample parts, process sheets and other authorized information. Exercising a working knowledge of the physical characteristics of plastic parts and assembly techniques; builds laminated assemblies by laying up composite, plastic and metal parts and adhesives onto tools or molds. Operates various types of cutting and trimming equipment to trim parts to finished tolerances. Performs final finishing operations such as hand and power drilling, grinding, sanding, filing, burring, and polishing. Performs drilling, reaming countersinking and the installation of fasteners.

Operates various types of cutting and trimming equipment to trim parts to finished tolerances. Performs final finishing operations such as hand and power drilling, grinding, sanding, filing, burring, and polishing. Performs drilling, reaming countersinking and the installation of fasteners. Scribe lines on flat and contoured parts, working to available tooling such as templates, drill jigs and sample parts. Improvise shop aids to facilitate fabrication, trimming and assembly operations as required. Checks expiration dates of materials prior to use; prepares proper impregnates materials as required. Lays out and cuts plastic strips for testing purposes. Helps maintain work area in orderly condition by returning tools, equipment, and materials to storage areas. Maintains records for regulatory purposes. May provide information to authorized liaison personnel, regarding defective parts, tooling or assemblies, or incorrect assembly sequence. Assists Fabricator and Assembler, Senior and Developmental employees as required. Must obtain and maintain Company licenses, certifications, and training as required for assigned tasks. Must Be Able to Work Any Shift.

Basic Qualifications

Must demonstrate skills equivalent to entry level blueprint and technical data comprehension. Must be knowledgeable in the use of process specifications. Must possess one year of experience in Composite Fabrication and/or successful completion of an Aerospace Fabrication certification or equivalent education.
