Job summary

Genuine Parts Company in Chattanooga is seeking an Assembly Tech - Hose to support the hose assembly team and produce hydraulic hose assemblies to factory specifications for external customers.

You will cut, fit and assemble hose and fittings, inspect finished work, maintain accurate inventory, and use Outlook and shop tools to complete tasks with attention to detail and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Familiarity with hydraulic hoses, fittings, and configurations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers by assembling hydraulic hose parts and components per vendor/product knowledge.
• Cut, fit, and assemble hose and fittings; inspect or test completed assemblies.
• Maintain proper inventory by counting, reordering, or shipping materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY:

The Assembly Tech - Hose supports and enables the assembly work group by providing services to assemble hydraulic hose and components to factory specification for external customers.

JOB DUTIES:

• Assists and enables industrial customers in assembling hydraulic hose parts or components through familiarity and knowledge of vendor’s products.
• Cuts, fits, and assembles hose and hose fittings and inspects or tests completed assembly.
• Ensures proper inventory is maintained by counting, reordering or shipping materials.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Typically requires a high school diploma or GED.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of different hoses and thread configurations, basic hydraulic principles
• Ability to use a computer and Microsoft Outlook.
• Ability to use a varies of hand tools and shop equipment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to problem solve and make independent decisions.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
• Basic knowledge of fluid power.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must have mechanical aptitude.
