Job summary

MAAC Machinery in Illinois is seeking a fabrication welder to build machine frames and components from structural steel. You will tear down completed machines for transport and fabricate parts such as ovens, guards, tanks, and catwalks.

Overtime opportunities and weekly pay are available. Responsibilities include grinding, finishing, quality checks, and installing components into machine structures while using forklifts and overhead cranes.

Qualifications

  • Must read a tape measure to 1/32".
  • MIG welding and fabrication experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints (or learn).
  • Experience with saws, shears, drill presses, forklifts, and cranes is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Build machine frames and components from structural steel.
  • Tear down completed machines for transport.
  • Fabricate ovens, safety guards, vacuum tanks, swing doors, brackets and catwalks.
  • Perform grinding and finishing on components.
  • Quality check finished parts and assemble into machines.
  • Disassemble machines for painting and shipping.
  • Handle materials with sit-down forklifts and overhead cranes.

Job description

Rate of Pay: $21.00 to $23.00 per hour (paid weekly)

Overtime Rate: $31.50 to $34.50 per hour

Two Shifts available to choose from:

1st Shift Schedule: Monday thru Friday; 7:00am to 3:30pm.

2nd Shift Schedule: Monday thru Friday; 3:45pm to 12:15am.

Overtime always available; paid breaks.

JOB SUMMARY:

The primary tasks of the Fabrication Welder involve building machine frames and components out of structural steel, followed by tearing down completed machines to prepare for transport.

  • MIG welding and fabrication of machine frames and components that consist of light gauge sheet metal to heavy gauge tube, flat bar and I-Beam.
  • Fabricating industrial ovens, safety guarding, vacuum tanks, swing doors, fan brackets, catwalks.
  • Grinding and finishing completed products.
  • Perform quality checks on finished components.
  • Installing finished components into machine structures.
  • Disassembling machines for painting and shipping.
  • Material handling with sit-down forklifts and overhead cranes.
