Job summary

Kauai Coffee in Kalaheo, HI seeks a Regular Craft Worker to oversee safety, maintain equipment histories, and coordinate work procedures on our coffee factory facilities. You will install, repair, and service mobile and stationary equipment including pumps, conveyors, and dryers, and ensure quality through inspection and documentation.

Responsibilities include disassembling and repairing parts, fabricating jigs, reading blueprints, and planning materials and schedules with team members.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship program or formal trade education is required.
• Experience with machine shop fabrication equipment and techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, specs and instructions.
• Physically and mentally able to perform all duties.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety meetings with assigned personnel and manage safety matters.
• Maintain and submit equipment history files, drawings and records.
• Plan, lay out and coordinate work procedures; assign work to others.
• Install and repair all company equipment and facilities (pumps, conveyors, dryers, piping, etc.).
• Disassemble equipment to repair; check for flaws; make repairs and modifications.
• Identify problems with the help of others; plan materials and schedule personnel.
• Design and construct jigs and fixtures to facilitate work.
• Fabricate parts from metals/plastics; file, chip and fit machinery.
• Inspect finished jobs and issue completion and release orders.
• Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
