Job Overview

Must be certified in all position MIG welding as outlined in ISO 9001 welding qualification. Requires a basic understanding of metal properties, ability to set up and operate welding equipment efficiently, and interpret blueprints, sketches, and drawings to apply this knowledge to the product.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints to determine necessary repairs and use appropriate equipment to perform repairs.
• Cut materials from stock using cutting torch or air arc.
• Remove defective parts with cutting tools from assemblies.
• Examine workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.
• Clean welds using grinders.
• Use tow motor or hoist to move or position workpieces when required.
• Plan layout of weldments based on prints and sketches.
• Align and position parts using hand tools.
• Weld parts using various welding processes according to drawings or prints.
• Inspect work to ensure correct specifications and dimensions.
• Assemble final products and assist with compatibility testing.
• Follow safety rules and perform housekeeping duties.
• Record labor and verify quality with proper documentation.

Qualifications/Requirements

Associate degree in Welding and Fabrication Technology or equivalent work experience.
