Job Overview

Must certify in all position MIG welding as outlined in ISO 9001 welding qualification. Must have a basic understanding of metal properties and be able to set up and efficiently operate a wide range of welding craft equipment. Interpret blueprints, customer-provided sketches, and drawings, and apply this knowledge to the product.

Key Job Responsibilities
  1. Interpret blueprints to determine necessary repairs to be made. Use necessary equipment to affect repairs.
  2. Cut material from stock.
  3. Use cutting torch or air arc to remove defective parts from main assembly.
  4. Examine work piece to verify conformance to specifications.
  5. Use grinder to clean welds.
  6. When required, use tow motor or hoist to move or position work piece.
  7. Plan layout of weldments based on prints, sketches, etc.
  8. Position and align parts utilizing hand tools, etc.
  9. Weld parts utilizing a variety of welding processes per drawing or print.
  10. Inspect work to ensure specifications and dimensions are correct.
  11. Assemble final products and assist with the compatibility process.
  12. Obey all safety rules and perform housekeeping assignments.
  13. Record labor and verify quality with proper documents.
Qualifications/Requirements

Associate in Welding and Fabrication Technology or comparable work experience.
