Job summary

Tomball Controls is seeking an experienced Fabrication Technician (Saw Operator) for our Pleasanton, TX manufacturing team. The role focuses on operating sheet-metal shearing equipment, interpreting drawings, and maintaining quality and safety standards.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on metal fabrication experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work 12-hour shifts on a Thursday–Sunday schedule, with 6:00 AM–6:00 PM hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 0–4 years of experience operating shearing machines in fabrication/manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Set up and adjust machines (e.g., Accurpress, Amada or similar).
• Proficient with measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, protractors).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs or more and stand for extended periods.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Machine Operation & Fabrication: Set up and operate machinery, CNC, fabrication and manual sheet-metal shearing equipment.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and cut lists for tooling, settings, and setup.
• Adjust shear settings based on material type, thickness, and job specs.
