Job summary

Farmers-Union-Industries in Minnesota is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Assembler to read blueprints, set up laser and press equipment, and build precise metal parts.

You will operate a laser cutter, overhead crane, forklift, and related metal fabrication tools, perform quality checks, and maintain a clean, safe workspace. The role requires attention to detail, ability to read a tape measure to 1/16 inch, and readiness to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience operating metal fabrication equipment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints or instructions.
• Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16" and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow manufacturing and assembly drawings, prints, and instructions.
• Adjust machines based on job specifications and material requirements.
• Safely operate fabrication equipment: press brake, plasma cutter, drill press, band saw, shear, MIG welder, lathe, mill, ironworker and laser.
• Load sheet metal into laser cutter using overhead crane and assign part numbers.
• Produce parts and assemblies to specifications and pass first article inspections.
• Operate forklift, pallet jacks and hydraulic lifting equipment.
• Complete paperwork accurately and keep area organized.
• Maintain safety and environmental policies and attend on-site as required.
