Georg Fischer Ltd. is seeking a Fabrication Technician II for the Irvine, CA area. The role focuses on plastic welding and assembly of medium to high-difficulty fabrications, with a 2nd shift Monday–Friday 1:00 PM–9:30 PM.

The candidate will read blueprints, lay out dimensions, operate plastic fabrication tools, and maintain welding equipment while ensuring quality and timely delivery, in a safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED; preferred.
• Experience with fabrication, mechanical assembly, plastic welding, or related work.
• Welding polypropylene and other plastics (PP, HDPE, PVDF, PVC).

Responsibilities

• Fabricate plastic items using welding, drilling, and sawing.
• Read and interpret technical drawings.
• Ensure high quality and minimize scrap.
• Inform supervisor of questions or discrepancies.
• Ensure on-time delivery of products.
• Handle drawings/work orders and material flow at workstation.
• Set up tools and maintain welding equipment.
• Follow safety and quality requirements.
• Repair and rework parts as needed.
• Monitor dimensions and adjust machines for materials/dimensions.

## Fabrication Technician IIApply: On-Site: Irvine, California: Full time: Posted Today: JR11339Performs plastic welding as well as some assembly of custom fabrications of a medium to high difficulty requiring skill and accuracy. **2nd Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM****Essential Duties & Responsibilities:*** Fabricate plastic items using various techniques, such as welding, drilling, and sawing.* Read and interpret technical drawings.* Maintains a high quality and keeps scrap to a minimum.* Informs supervisor and QC immediately of questions, or discrepancies.* Jointly responsible for on-time delivery of products.* Responsible for drawings/ work orders and material-flow at his/her workstation.* Set-ups (may include pulling parts) and maintains welding equipment, notifying supervisor/manager of any problems.* Adheres to all safety and quality requirements.* Repairs and reworks parts as necessary.* Monitors critical dimensions and adjust machines for different material and/or dimensions.* Prepare test/sample welds and perform various tests.* Assists in boxing of finished components for storage or shipment, as necessary.* Follows the procedures as presented in the Employee Handbook, Etiquette Brochure, department procedures, captures contact information, and follows verbal, written or diagram instructions as provided by supervisors and managers.* Committed to the protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and neighbors.* All other duties as assigned.**Required Skills/Abilities:*** Ability to read blueprints.* Ability to layout dimensions.* Ability to read and use tape measurer.* Ability to use all plastic fabrication tools with minimal supervision.* Ability to carry out instructions with moderate supervision.* Certified on all IR and WM machines* Certified Socket Weld.* Performs all operations according to prescribed safety principles.* Ability to work with and preserve confidential and proprietary information.* Acts as Company representative at other company locations, or at other companies.* Presents a professional appearance as well as presents a professional attitude with customers, distributors, vendors and other company personnel.* Ability to drive with valid driver’s license for Company reasons, occasionally.* Mechanically inclined.* Certified on some IR Machines WM**Education and Experience:*** High School Diploma or GED equivalency, preferred.* Experience with fabrication, mechanical assembly, plastic welding and/or related experience.* Experience welding polypropylene PP, HDPE, PVDF & PVC plastics.* Passing a Company post-employment physical as well as controlled substance testing and background and security checks, as required. **Working Conditions / Physical Requirements*****:**** Ability to discern various colors (wires, electronic components, etc.).* Ability to lift to 50 pounds, occasionally.* Ability to stand for extended periods.* Excellent hand-eye coordination.* Climbing ladders.* Ability to read small, printed words and numbers accurately.* Bending.* Reaching.* Carrying equipment, tools, demo boxes, etc.* Accessing small spaces. **Salary Range: $25 - $28 Per Hour (Based on Experience) + Bonus**
