Job summary

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Fabrication Technician to support wafer fabrication in our Massachusetts facility. You will operate equipment for alignment, masking, etch, and diffusion, and you will help optimize workflows on the A-shift night schedule.

This temporary role requires attention to cleanroom procedures, documentation, and safe handling of materials. The successful candidate will work as part of a responsive team that values precision and reliability in producing semiconductor

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Performs wafer fabrication functions and operates equipment for alignment, masking, etch and diffusion.
• Follow work instructions and procedures; document data and maintain records.
• Maintain cleanroom PPE and practices; handle materials safely.
• Move materials as needed and participate in quality inspections.
• Support equipment setup and calibration as skilled level permits.

As a Fabrication Technician you will perform wafer fabrication functions in the production of semiconductor devices. Operate equipment in performing alignment, masking, etch deposition, testing, and diffusion. Manage workflows to optimize equipment output performance. This temporary role works on the A-shift night shift.

Shift - WOB A (SU-W ; SU-T 6am - 6:15pm)

Responsibilities

• Performs wafer fabrication functions in the production of semiconductor devices. Operates equipment in performing alignment, masking, etch and diffusion. In senior and highly skilled levels, performs equipment set-up and calibration, and may perform routine preventative maintenance tasks.
• Perform wafer fabrication by following work instruction and documented procedures
• Operate equipment to perform various stages of the wafer fabrication process
• Perform measurements and analysis of critical parameters and record data
• Adhere to clean room protocol and work practices, including wearing PPE for long periods of time
• Maintain proper documentation and records
• Move materials or finished good from one location to another; may involve pushing, pulling, or lifting (up to 20 pounds) or bending
• Visually inspect and recognize quality defects
• Handle fragile GaAs wafers and precious metals, such as gold and platinum
• Mix wet chemistries
• Collect and log data into computer-based applications

Required Experience and Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED
• Basic mathematical computations and writing tasks
• Effective communication, include speaking, writing, active listening and taking instruction
• Dexterity and good hand-eye coordination, with the ability to manipulate components of various sizes
• Ability to understand directions and adhere to established procedures
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and to perform repetitive tasks
• Lifts, handles, and reaches to use tools such as pliers, large tweezers, hand-held scanners, etc.
• Basic computer knowledge and skills including MS Office Suite
• Dependable team player

Desired Experience and Skills

• Prior semiconductor manufacturing experience, with knowledge of overall Wafer FAB operational proficiency (process, tools, flows)
• Knowledge of cleanroom practices and protocols
• Problem solving abilities to troubleshoot
