Job description

Welding Technician – 1st Shift

Schneider Electric is looking for a Welding Technician for 1st shift to join our dynamic team at Mount Juliet, TN.

Responsibilities
  • Set-up, operate and adjust all types of equipment such as Trumpf, Barline, Finnpower, Engel roll-form, etc.
  • Fill in for other operators in the same class and area as needed.
  • Start up and shut down the equipment.
  • Run the line in auto or manual mode.
  • Remove and load raw stock into the line as required.
  • Prepare all materials to be run and conduct quality tests for possible defects.
  • Sort and dispose of scrap and write scrap tickets.
  • Work from blueprints, sketches, routings, computer, or other documents.
  • Maintain quality and productivity standards.
  • Input information into the system at the operator control station or a PC computer (such as schedules, quality information, downtime reasons, PM information, inslipping, etc.).
  • Operate material handling equipment and move loads as required.
  • Maintain equipment, count records, report production, and maintain daily logs.
  • Keep equipment clean, dust‑free, bolts tightened, oil levels checked, and report abnormal conditions (heat, vibration, noise, and leaks).
  • Maintain good housekeeping and adhere to plant regulations and safety procedures.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years MIG/Spot welding experience.
  • Self‑starter and independent worker.
  • Previous fabrication experience.
  • Experience setting dies.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Forklift experience preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required, along with safety shoes and safety glasses. You must stand for prolonged periods, reach overhead, pull, push, bend, squat, and climb ladders. Ability to lift 26 lbs occasionally or 22 lbs independently and repetitively is required.

Compensation

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 0 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short‑term incentives. The compensation range for this full‑time position applies to candidates located within the United States.
