Job summary

Keel is seeking a Welding Engineer III to lead complex welding engineering activities from concept through production. You will establish welding strategies, guide procedure development, and resolve advanced welding and fabrication challenges while advancing automation and technology across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of welding engineering or related fabrication experience.
• Experience in heavy, non-automotive fabrication environments.
• Experience developing, qualifying, and implementing code‑compliant welding procedures.
• Advanced knowledge of welding processes, materials, metallurgy, and NDE methods.
• Significant experience with robotic welding, programming, automation, and advanced welding technologies.
• Ability to interpret welding codes, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong leadership and ability to influence cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, qualification, implementation, and optimization of welding procedures from concept to production.
• Serve as technical authority for complex welding issues and direct engineering, quality, and production teams.
• Lead welding procedure development and qualification activities per codes and customer requirements.
• Establish welding strategies, parameters, and production requirements for high‑risk applications.
• Resolve welding defects, quality issues, and fabrication challenges.
• Direct implementation of new welding technology, automation, and equipment.
• Evaluate and recommend new welding equipment, consumables, technologies, and process improvements.
• Improve weld quality, productivity, throughput, cost, and capability.
• Provide input to quoting, manufacturing planning, and new product development.
