Job summary

Reading Truck Body in Reading, PA, seeks a Production Supervisor to lead a fabrication line and drive operational excellence. You will oversee daily production activities, champion safety, and develop a high-performing team to meet quality, delivery, and cost targets.

The role emphasizes coaching, scheduling, training, and hands-on leadership to ensure efficient operations and strong teamwork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 3 years leading an hourly skilled trade workforce.
• 3 years of fabrication or welding experience preferred.
• Experience with schematics, blueprint reading, and AutoCAD introduction.

Responsibilities

• Safety Leadership: Promote a safety-first culture and proactively address workplace hazards.
• Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop production team members to drive performance and accountability.
• Production Management: Coordinate daily operations, assign work, and optimize staffing to maximize efficiency.
• Training & Development: Provide hands-on training and guidance to strengthen team skills and performance.
• Quality & Delivery: Maintain quality standards and production schedules to meet customer expectations.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
• Performance Management: Monitor KPIs, maintain production boards, track attendance, and complete required reporting and evaluations.
• Team Building: Support the interviewing and selection of hourly production team members.
• Operational Support: Perform additional duties to support team and business goals.

What You Bring to the Table:

• Education: High school diploma or GED
• Experience:
  • Minimum of (3) years prior experience leading an hourly skilled trade workforce
  • 3 years of Fabrication or welding experience preferred
  • Experience in Schematics, Blue Print reading, AutoCAD introduction
• Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
