Reading Truck Body, part of the J.B. Poindexter & Co. family, seeks a Production Supervisor - Fabrication to lead a skilled hourly team in Reading, PA.

You will oversee daily production, champion safety, and drive continuous improvement to meet quality, delivery, and cost goals. You will coach and develop team members, manage staffing and schedules, review KPIs, and maintain production boards. Proficiency with schematics, blueprints and AutoCAD, plus strong Excel and communication, are

Lead and inspire a team to deliver high-quality products while driving operational excellence. You’ll oversee daily production activities, foster a culture of safety and accountability, and champion continuous improvement to achieve key performance goals in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

• Safety Leadership: Promote a safety-first culture and proactively address workplace hazards.
• Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop production team members to drive performance and accountability.
• Production Management: Coordinate daily operations, assign work, and optimize staffing to maximize efficiency.
• Training & Development: Provide hands‑on training and guidance to strengthen team skills and performance.
• Quality & Delivery: Maintain quality standards and production schedules to meet customer expectations.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
• Performance Management: Monitor KPIs, maintain production boards, track attendance, and complete required reporting and evaluations.
• Team Building: Support the interviewing and selection of hourly production team members.
• Operational Support: Perform additional duties to support team and business goals.

What You Bring to the Table

• Education: High school diploma or GED
• Experience:
  • Minimum of (3) years prior experience leading an hourly skilled trade workforce
  • 3 years of Fabrication or welding experience preferred
  • Experience in Schematics, Blue Print reading, AutoCAD introduction
• Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
