Job summary

Trion IAQ, a business of Air Distribution Technologies, Inc., seeks a Fabrication Production Supervisor at our Sanford, NC facility. You will lead day-to-day fabrication operations and manage safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.

Responsibilities include supervising cells (press brake, laser, saw, forming, welding), planning workloads, enforcing 5S and standard work, and coordinating maintenance. You will collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Materials to improve throughput.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent; Bachelor's preferred.
• 3+ years of production supervision in metal fabrication.
• Ability to read/interpret drawings and apply GD&T.
• Proficiency with MS Office and ERP/production scheduling.
• Applied math and practical problem-solving.
• Proven ability to lead teams and communicate across shifts.

• Partner with Quality on MRB and containment activities.
• Collaborate with Materials/Planning to sequence work and minimize bottlenecks.
• Coach and develop hourly team members; conduct reviews.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities in safety, quality, delivery, cost.

Trion IAQ, a business of Air Distribution Technologies, Inc., is seeking a Fabrication Production Supervisor for our Sanford, NC facility. Founded in 1947, Trion specializes in high-performance, sustainable indoor air quality solutions- including air cleaners, electronic air filters, humidifiers, and industrial air scrubbers- serving commercial spaces, industrial plants, and healthcare environments. This role leads day-to-day operations in the fabrication area, supervising people, workflow, equipment, and cell performance to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. The Supervisor maintains a strong floor presence, ensures standard work and 5S, coordinates maintenance, and partners cross-functionally (Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Materials) to support on-time delivery and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

• Supervise daily operations for fabrication cells (press brake, laser/turret punch, saw, forming, welding, and staging).
• Plan, assign, and direct work to meet production schedules and on-time delivery; balance labor across cells and manage overtime as needed.
• Ensure safe operations and compliance with all company policies; reinforce 5S, standard work, and proper PPE usage.
• Monitor output, first-pass yield, and product appearance; drive corrective actions to reduce scrap and rework.
• Coordinate preventive/corrective maintenance with Maintenance and Engineering; verify equipment readiness and tooling availability.
• Review travelers/routers, prints, and work instructions; verify parts meet specification prior to release to downstream processes.
• Partner with Quality on non-conforming material (MRB), root-cause/corrective action, and containment activities.
• Collaborate with Materials/Planning to sequence work, manage WIP, and minimize changeovers and bottlenecks.
• Coach, train, and develop hourly team members; provide timely feedback, performance reviews, and fair accountability in partnership with HR.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in safety, quality, delivery, and cost (e.g., setup reduction, material flow, 5S).

What We're Looking For

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3+ years of production supervision in a metal fabrication environment (sheet metal preferred).
• Working knowledge of fabrication processes: press brake, laser/turret punch, shearing & forming. (Knowledge of machining & welding processes a plus.)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/blueprints and apply basic GD&T to production checks. (Experience with configured drawing is a plus)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with ERP/production scheduling systems.
• Applied math and practical problem-solving (percentages, proportions, basic algebra/geometry).
• Proven ability to lead teams, drive accountability, and communicate effectively across shifts and functions.

Preferred

• Experience in HVAC or indoor air quality product manufacturing.
• Lean/Continuous Improvement experience (5S, standard work, visual management, basic problem-solving).
• Exposure to welding certifications, fixture design, and setup reduction in high-mix/low-volume environments.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing plant environment with regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, sheet-metal fabrication equipment, and moderate to high noise. The role requires routine time on the production floor and adherence to PPE requirements. Employees may be required to stand for extended periods and lift or move materials consistent with fabrication operations (up-to 50 lbs).
