Job Title: Fabrication Specialist
Duration: 12 Months contract
Location: E Ave SE, Kennedy Space Center, FL 32815Shifts: 1st shift 6:00 am - 2:30pm
Description:
- Performs machine set-up, machining, welding set-up, welding, sheet metal fabrication and extrusion, tube bending and fabrication tasks.
- Performs composite lay-up, fabrication and assembly tasks. Assembles precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components.
- Assembles, repairs, modifies and installs various power plants and drive trains. Perform soldering on electronic and avionics products. Assembles and installs wire harnesses and avionics products.
- Prepares test articles, fixtures and data collection devices to perform various tests. Performs organic chemical conversion and paint preparation.
- Applies organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements. Works on complex components and systems using established drawings and requirements.
What are the Top 3-5 Skills REQUIRED to perform this role/job?For 2 orbital tube welders:1. Must be certified - orbital tube weld certification
2. Must have experience with tube installation, this is a plus +
3. Boeing experience is a plus
For 4 tube installers:1. Must have experience with tube installation - No certification needed
2. Boeing experience is a plus
Education:
- High school diploma or GED and typically 4 or more years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Additional secondary duties in other areas will also be performed as required. Will be required to obtain manufacturing certifications on an as needed basis including any associated physical examination.
- Will be required to perform cleanup and administrative functions as required to support daily activities.
