Job summary

PES is seeking a Shop Helper in Amelia, LA. The role involves breaking down cement casts safely, operating an overhead crane, and performing routine inspections and maintenance on lifting equipment. The candidate will work with PPE and follow safety protocols in a fabrication setting.

Responsibilities include splicing cables, planning with JSEA, and ensuring proper PPE usage. APassionate focus on safety and teamwork is required for this hands-on position.

Qualifications

• 2 or more years of prior fabrication experience.
• Knowledge of crane hand signals.
• Selects correct rigging as per weight and balance loads.
• Experience using safe work habits.

Responsibilities

• Break down cement casts from oyster reefs/molds safely, with proper PPE.
• Operates an overhead crane
• Assume a safe position during lifting operations and be aware of the position of others
• Complete daily visual inspections and minor maintenance to ensure equipment is in proper working condition.
• Lubricates machinery and equipment
• Splices and repairs cables and ropes
• Participate in daily JSEA planning discussion
• Proper PPE selection and usage
• Conduct behavior-based safety observations
• Understands and uses Stop Work Authority
