Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR seeks an experienced AISC Complex Fabrication Project Manager to oversee large-scale steel fabrication from contract award to closeout. You will coordinate cross-functional teams across detailing, engineering, procurement, shop operations, QA/QC, coating, EHS, logistics, and field operations for movable bridge projects.

The role requires 10+ years in complex steel fabrication, AISC-certified experience, and the ability to interpret detailed drawings and welding symbols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Civil/Structural/Mechanical/Construction/Welding Engineering or closely related field.
• Professional Engineer license in structural, civil or mechanical engineering.
• 10+ years of experience managing complex steel fabrication and movable bridge projects.
• Direct experience with AISC-certified fabrication, preferably involving complex bridge structures.
• Ability to interpret engineering/shop/erection drawings, welding symbols and contract documents.
• Experience with AWS D1.1, AWS D1.5, AISC requirements, AASHTO bridge requirements, DOT specs, dimensional control, NDE coordination, coating requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned projects from contract award through closeout, including kickoff, planning, scheduling, budget control, and final closeout.
• Develop and maintain project work plans addressing scope, schedule, budget, procurement, production sequencing, inspection, delivery milestones, and customer requirements.
• Coordinate internal execution with Detailing, Engineering, Procurement, Shop Operations, QA/QC, Coatings, EHS, Logistics, Field Operations, Accounting, and Exec. Management.
• Identify project risks, develop mitigation plans, and notify management of issues affecting schedule, cost, quality, safety, delivery, or customer satisfaction.
• Prepare and maintain project controls: status reports, earned value metrics, schedule updates, issue/risk logs, forecast-at-completion.
• Manage fabrication projects involving movable bridge components (bascule, swing, lift, etc.).
• Coordinate fabrication requirements for heavy plate, built-up girders, machinery support frames, trunnion assemblies, counterweight structures, and other large weldments.
• Coordinate shop assembly plans, trial-fit, bolting, welding procedures, NDE, coating hold points, and shipping configurations.
• Resolve technical and fabrication issues with engineers, detailers, inspectors, QA/QC, production teams, vendors, subcontractors, and erection teams.
