Job summary

Builders FirstSource is seeking an administrative specialist to translate engineering data into shop fabrication files and to communicate production needs to the shop floor. You will create drawings, cut lists, and electronic files, organize job folders, and release jobs to the production team.

The role requires basic computer skills, careful attention to detail, and strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; or 18 months of truss fabrication experience.

Responsibilities

• Release a job into the shop with appropriate cut lists, bunking lists, drawings, and electronic files.
• Create job folders and generate shop drawings.
• Group shop drawings by work center and batch jobs.
• Create automated saw files and projection fabrication files.
• Release jobs to the production team and update scheduling status.
• Edit work orders in the online software for labor totals.
• Retrieve fabrication data and close production files.
• Perform other routine production department tasks as assigned.
