Summary

Responsible for all operations involved in manufacturing pipe couplings.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures; perform tasks safely.
• Inspect parts for correct dimensions.
• Assist with procuring materials needed for production, using tools such as tape measure, plug gauge, dial indicator, inside caliper, dial caliper, and burr knife.
• Operate equipment including cutting, machining on lathes, drilling, installing set screws, hydro testing, and packaging.
• Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
• Respond to employee technical questions when knowledgeable.
• Refer questions to Fabrication Manager or HR/Safety Manager as appropriate.
• Notify the Fabrication Manager or Leader of any problems.
• Immediately report accidents or injuries to the Shift Supervisor.
• Coordinate with Maintenance for equipment repairs.
• Willingness to take on additional assignments as requested by management.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand simple instructions in English; effective communication skills.
• Ability to read a tape measure, perform basic arithmetic, and use a calculator.
• Apply common sense to follow instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Physical Demands

Must regularly stand, walk, handle objects, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear. Occasionally sit. Frequently lift/move up to 50 lbs. Must have close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment vision.

Work Environment

Exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet/humid conditions, temperature extremes, airborne particles, chemicals, outdoor weather, electrical hazards, and vibration. Noise levels are typically loud. Reasonable accommodations will be provided for individuals with disabilities.
