SUMMARY

Responsible for all operations involved in manufacturing couplings for pipe.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures; perform tasks in a safe manner.
  • Check parts for dimensions.
  • Assist with procuring materials needed for production using tools such as tape measure, plug gauge, dial indicator, inside caliper, dial caliper, and burr knife.
  • Operate equipment including cutting, machining on lathes, drilling, inserting set screws, hydro testing, and packaging.
  • Complete production and quality paperwork accurately.
  • Answer employee technical questions when information is available.
  • Refer questions to Fabrication manager or HR/Safety Manager as appropriate.
  • Contact Fabrication Manager or Leader if issues arise.
  • Immediately notify the Shift supervisor in case of an accident or injury.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Department for equipment repairs.
  • Willingness to take on additional assignments as requested by management.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to read and understand simple instructions in English; effective communication skills; ability to work well with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Ability to read a tape measure, perform basic math operations, and use a calculator, with understanding of units of measurement.
  • Apply common sense to carry out written or verbal instructions; solve problems involving concrete variables.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employees must meet physical requirements to perform essential functions, with reasonable accommodations available. Tasks include standing, walking, handling, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, and lifting/moving up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, and occasionally to wet/humid conditions, temperature extremes, fumes, chemicals, outdoor weather, electrical hazards, and vibration. Noise levels are generally loud.
