• Oversee daily fabrication operations, including cutting, fitting, welding, assembly and material preparation.
• Assign tasks to fabrication employees based on production priorities and project requirements.
• Monitor production schedules to ensure on-time completion and deadlines.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and fabrication specs.
• Inspect fabricated components for quality and compliance with customer requirements.
• Ensure safety policies, OSHA requirements and proper equipment operating procedures are followed.
• Coordinate material requirements, inventory levels, and equipment availability to prevent delays.
• Monitor employee performance, productivity, attendance and work quality.
• Train employees on fabrication procedures, equipment operation, quality standards and safety practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to improve workflow and reduce waste.
• Coordinate with engineering, quality control, purchasing, warehouse and project management teams.
• Maintain accurate production records, inspection reports and material usage records.
• Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce costs and minimize waste.
