Job summary

Novax Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Pre-Fabrication Manager for a site-based role in Western New York. You will lead pre-fabrication and plate processing in a heavy fabrication setting, coordinating CNC cutting, drilling and related activities to meet project goals.

You will manage supervisors and skilled workers, ensuring safety, quality and efficiency while driving throughput and equipment utilisation. A focus on KPIs and continuous improvement is essential for success.

Some manufacturing roles are about keeping production moving. Others are about transforming how an operation performs.

An established structural steel fabrication business is looking for an experienced Pre-Fabrication Manager to lead a key department within its manufacturing operation.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of production performance, lead experienced teams and drive improvements across equipment utilisation, manufacturing efficiency and output.

The Opportunity

You’ll oversee pre-fabrication and plate processing activities within a heavy fabrication environment, with responsibility for:

• CNC plasma and laser cutting
• Drilling, bevelling and plate preparation
• Robotic fitting and welding
• Machining and milling
• Plate rolling
• Blast and paint coordination
• Automated, BIM-linked manufacturing processes

You’ll lead supervisors and production employees, overseeing safety, quality, labour planning, throughput and equipment utilisation.

Beyond day-to-day operations, you’ll identify bottlenecks, reduce downtime, establish meaningful KPIs and improve production flow.
