Fabrication Machine Operator-3rd Shift

Manchester, IA-Onsite

11pm-7:30am Sunday-Thursday

$22/hour, plus 15% shift premium

Overview:

Prepare and process parts prior to assembly.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Prepares machine for production by positioning and securing dies, stops, guides and turntables, based on blueprints, specifications, and work orders.
2. Maintains specifications and regulates machining by observing operations, detecting malfunctions, inspecting parts, and setting and adjusting controls and replacing dies.
3. Produces parts by locating and marking reference points on workpiece with rule, compass, template, etc., positioning or aligning workpiece against stops and guides or with die, operating equipment.
4. Resolves production problems by altering process to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
5. Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
6. Maintains stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available, anticipating needed stock, placing and expediting orders for stock, verifying receipt of stock.
7. Maintains production by identifying space for staged components; delivering components to work centers; requisitioning and verifying additional components.
8. Completes production record by recording and delivering tubs and pallets of finished stock; document actions by completing production, quality and time forms.
9. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations and wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Basic understanding of shop math.
3. Ability to read blueprints, specifications and follow procedures.
4. Prior manufacturing and machine operation experience preferred.
5. Ability to stand for full shift, frequently crouch, kneel, bend or stoop.
6. Ability to routinely lift up to 50lbs and occasionally up to 100lbs.
7. Must be able to work overtime as required.
8. Pre-employment drug screening required.
