Who We Want

The purpose of a Weld Production Operator at Challenge is to load component parts into automated assembly cells efficiently to support customer parts production. The Team Member will also record production in Challenge’s reporting system (Plex) and notify supervisors or maintenance of production issues. Responsibilities include completing quality checks and packing parts as per instructions.

What You'll Do
  • Arrive on time for your shift and return from breaks promptly.
  • Perform duties necessary to ensure production output during your shift.
  • Follow work center instructions to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Weld operations involve standing, walking, bending, twisting, turning, and lifting.
  • Load, unload, lift, move, pull, push, or position products and materials up to 35 pounds, with assistance for heavier objects.
  • Select proper racks or bins for packing and storing parts.
  • Pack parts correctly, adhering to packaging instructions and labels.
  • Use a computer, keyboard, printer, and mouse as required.
  • Complete inspection sheets and verify process stability and quality standards.
  • Visually inspect parts to ensure proper form, fit, and function.
  • Ensure quality standards are met according to gage instructions and inspection processes.
  • Monitor inventory levels and notify relevant personnel when stock is low.
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness of the work area.
  • Cross-train on various work centers as needed.
  • Complete required paperwork and documentation.
  • Follow escalation procedures for problem reporting.
  • Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
When and Where

This is a 3rd shift position, 7:30 PM - 6:00 AM, Monday through Thursday, located at our plant in Cusseta, AL.
