Job summary

QPS Employment Group in Rockford, IL is seeking a Fabrication Machine Operator to tend metal fabrication production machines, load materials, inspect parts, and support packaging operations. This role offers hands-on manufacturing experience with growth potential in a dynamic shop environment.

Pay starts at $17.12 per hour with 2nd or 3rd shift options (3:00pm-11:00pm or 11:00pm-7:00am). Overtime may be required; lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for 8–10 hours per shift are expected.

Qualifications

• Prior experience operating manufacturing machinery is strongly preferred.
• Excellent attendance is required.
• Excellent communication skills are expected.

Responsibilities

• Tend to and operate one or more metal fabrication production machines according to established specifications
• Observe machine operation, follow work instructions, and report any malfunctions promptly
• Remove finished parts, separate runners from products, and load inserts as necessary
• Feed strips into presses to support the manufacturing process
• Visually inspect parts for defects and measure dimensions with gauges or tools
• Pack finished products into cartons, attach shipping labels, and perform basic assembly tasks when required
• Maintain accurate production counts and record keeping
• Sort through finished goods with a keen eye to notice defects and differentiate batch numbers
