Job summary

QPS Employment Group has a great opportunity for a Material Handler at a company in Rockford, IL. This is a potential for hire position. Shift: 3rd, 11:00pm–7:00am.

You will operate a sit-down forklift, move materials to production lines, and transport cases on pallets. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs and working in a non-temperature-controlled environment. Basic data entry and following production instructions are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate a sit-down forklift.
• Able to work overtime as needed.
• Able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
• Basic math skills and decimal understanding.
• Intermediate computer skills to input data.
• Able to read and follow production instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift truck.
• Provide adequate supplies of work-in-process materials from storage areas to production departments and transports other materials.
• Deliver metal strips or blanks to production lines placing on stock tables or platforms.
• Deliver unassembled cases or bags to work area for assembly.
• Deliver product-filled cases on strapped pallets to designated staging areas for transportation to warehouse.
• Transport scrap to designated areas as required.
• Perform color changes.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift truck
• Provide adequate supplies of work-in-process materials from storage areas to production departments and transports other materials
• Deliver metal strips or blanks to production lines placing on stock tables or platforms
• Deliver unassembled cases or bags to work area for assembly
• Deliver product-filled cases on strapped pallets to designated staging areas for transportation to warehouse
• Transport scrap to designated areas as required
• Perform color changes
• Keep departmental work areas, aisles and storage areas safe, orderly and free of obstructions such as empty skids, pallets or trays, spoiled product, scrap boxes and pallet loads of finished product, etc.

Requirements

• Able to operate a sit-down forklift
• Able to ensure the security of product loads before transporting
• Able to work overtime as needed
• Able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment
• Intermediate computer skills to input data
• Able to read and understand production instructions, quality control instructions and perform math calculations using decimals
• Able to push, pull and lift heavy objects ranging up to approximately 50 lbs
