Skyline Windows seeks a hands-on Fabrication & Building/Warehouse Lead to oversee daily shop fabrication and lead our building and warehouse operations. You will keep the facility organized, maintained, and running safely in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate brings carpentry, metal fabrication, and general building maintenance experience, can read drawings, and lead by example while producing precise work across mixed trades.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade or technical training preferred.
• 5+ years hands-on carpentry, fabrication, or building maintenance experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments (tape measures, calipers).

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day fabrication in the shop and supervise building/warehouse activities.
• Labeling, shipping readiness, and facility maintenance including basic electrical/plumbing.
• Fabricate wood components, read drawings, and assemble components with welding, bolting, or riveting.
• Inspect work for quality, enforce safety protocols, and maintain equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, field teams, and warehouse staff to improve processes.

Job SummaryWe are seeking a hands-on Fabrication & Building/Warehouse Lead with a diversified, multi-trade skillset. This working lead role is responsible for day-to-day fabrication in our shop and serves as the lead for our building and warehouse — keeping the facility organized, maintained, and running safely. The ideal candidate brings experience across multiple trades — carpentry, metal fabrication, and general building maintenance — reads drawings, produces accurate work, and leads by example.Skyline Windows is a fourth-generation family owned and operated business. We are best known for designing, manufacturing, and installing custom windows, window wall systems, and terrace doors. All our products are made to order based on our clients’ project specifications. From landmarks to new construction, high end residential to high volume commercial, we do it all!Key ResponsibilitiesOrder Labeling & Shipping: Ensure completed orders are correctly labeled and staged for shipping.Facility Maintenance & Repairs: Perform general building maintenance and repairs, including basic electrical and plumbing work as needed.Carpentry & Woodwork: Fabricate, cut, and assemble wood components and custom pieces using table saws, chop saws, and related woodworking equipment and hand tools.Metal Work & Brake Operation: Measure, mark, cut, bend, and shape metal and other materials, including operating a brake to form capping, flashing, and trim.Blueprint Interpretation: Read and understand technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to execute accurate fabrication.Assembly: Join and assemble components through welding, bolting, riveting, or adhesives to construct finished products.Quality Control: Inspect and test work for defects and verify compliance with specifications using precision instruments (tape measures, calipers); check the quality and accuracy of work produced by other fabricators in the shop.Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on tools and machinery to ensure optimal functionality and safety.Safety Compliance: Adhere to OSHA guidelines and company safety protocols, including proper use of PPE.Collaboration: Work with engineers, designers, field teams, and warehouse staff to resolve challenges and improve processes.Documentation & Process Improvement: Record production data and inspection results accurately; recommend efficiency improvements in techniques and workflows.Qualifications & SkillsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent; trade or technical training in carpentry, fabrication, or a related building trade preferred.Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience across carpentry, fabrication, and/or building maintenance. This role requires a broad, diversified skillset across multiple trades.Technical Skills:Required: Carpentry skills, including safe, proficient use of table saws, chop saws, and other woodworking and shop equipment.Required: Ability to operate a brake and general fabrication tools (saws, grinders, drills).Required: Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments (tape measures, calipers).Expected: Basic welding/machining skills (TIG, MIG, or ARC welding certifications a plus).Preferred: Basic electrical and plumbing experience for building maintenance and repairs.Soft Skills:Leadership and ownership — able to lead the fabrication team day to day with minimal supervision.Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.Effective communication and teamwork.Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.Time management to meet production deadlines.Physical Requirements: Lift up to 75 lbs.; stand for extended periods.
