Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern in Appleton, WI. You will perform tasks applying standard engineering techniques, assist lead engineers on project duties, and contribute to design updates across markets, with a focus on Construction activities.

The role requires pursuing a Bachelor's in Construction Management or Engineering and demonstrates strong communication, problem solving, and leadership abilities. This is a full-time internship with travel as needed.

Formación

• Pursuing or enrolled in a Construction Management or Engineering degree from an accredited program.
• Prior internship or related consulting experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Active involvement in campus or community activities.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Demonstrated leadership and self-motivation.

Description

Our Engineering Interns are responsible for performing tasks requiring the application of standard engineering techniques and procedures. This includes standard design of engineering systems, correcting and updating designs, assisting lead engineers with various project duties, and other duties as assigned. Specific assignments and project work vary depending on the market segments. Please see below for information on each market:

Construction

The Construction group is responsible for construction phase services in the design-build process and support for safety and health, estimating, pre-construction, field operations, quality and project management. This includes multiple project execution approaches, including self-perform, multi-subcontractor, construction only and program management.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field from an accredited program required.

• Or, currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a post-secondary education program in a field related to the work done in the department required.

• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.

• Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

• Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

• Demonstrated leadership skills.

• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
