Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern in Saint Louis, MO to apply standard engineering techniques to design tasks, correct and update designs, and assist lead engineers on various projects within the Construction market.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a bachelor’s program (Construction Management, Engineering or related field) with a 3.0 GPA or higher, prior internship experience preferred, and strong written/verbal communication, problem solving and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field.
• Currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a post-secondary education and/or technical certificate program in a field related to the work done in the department.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related experience preferred.
• Involvement on campus or in the community.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard engineering techniques and procedures in design tasks.
• Correct and update designs as required.
• Assist lead engineers with various project duties.
• Support construction phase services and project management activities.
• Participate in safety, health, estimating, pre-construction, and field operations as needed.
