McWane Plant & Industrial in Wethersfield, CT, is hiring a General Worker to join our Job Shop Fabrication and Machining operation. The role involves assisting with plant operations, supporting equipment servicing, and helping maintain safe, reliable production.

Pay starts at $21.91 per hour with a 24-month wage progression. Excellent benefits include holidays, PTO, 401k, health insurance, education assistance, wellness program, and EAP. Overtime and varied shifts may apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of production and mechanical processing.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring personal safety and the safety of your team members.
• Assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
• Wears appropriate PPE including fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, and protective footwear.
• Responsible for cleanliness of the assigned work area and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
• Proactively promotes the McWane Way principles.
• Operate machinery used in the production process and/or assist machine operators.
• Saw cutting ductile iron pipe 3" - 48" diameter and lengths 1 ft to 20 ft.
• Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or with hoists and forklift trucks.
• Painting completed products
• Stack, crate, secure items for shipment
• Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Observe and inspect equipment and operations to ensure proper function.
• Count finished products to determine completion of orders.
• Mark or tag identification on parts.
• Load and unload items from machines and conveyors.
• Record information on production counts and dates/times.
• Follow all processes of the Clear Water Safety Management Program.
