Job Title and Shift

Fabrication Forklift Driver – 2nd Shift: Monday – Thursday, 2:00pm–12:30am

Overview

Silent‑Aire, a division of Johnson Controls, is a global leader in OEM manufacturing for data center customers. The primary role of the Fabrication Forklift Driver is to provide all required materials to the department before they are required, supporting large‑scale equipment production such as air handling units and modular data centers.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift equipment safely and efficiently.
• Move raw materials to fabrication machines as assigned.
• Conduct all materials movement procedures in accordance with company policies, procedures and safety regulations.
• Place all materials in the designated area and verify accuracy per request.
• Communicate with supervisors to ensure clear lines of communication.
• Multi‑task and prioritize tasks per the daily schedule and requirements.
• Monitor and report any material damage or discrepancies.
• Dump hoppers after machine change‑over and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Training in forklift operation and safety certifications preferred.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Forklift experience (experience with sheet‑metal, hardware, electronics, shop tools a plus).
• Knowledge of inventory receiving, processing, and storage procedures.
• Understanding of production line supply requirements and general production operations.
• Experience with safe practices, procedures and overall processes.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
• Must meet physical fitness standards for frequent lifting, walking, and standing.
• Good manual dexterity and multi‑limb coordination.
• Analytical problem‑solving with good communication skills.

Working Conditions

• Always adhere to safety policies.
• Use of personal protective equipment (safety glasses, safety boots, ear protection, cut‑level 5 gloves, etc.) required.
• Work near moving parts and varying noise levels.
• Adhere to 5S – Lean practices.
