Job summary

Viking Group, Inc. is seeking a Fabrication Maintenance Specialist to support fabrication equipment across the Houston area. You will perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment support for welding, robotics, PLC‑controlled systems, and fabrication machinery.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of maintenance experience with hands-on troubleshooting.
• Strong working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining industrial or manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with welding and fabrication of steel components.
• Experience with automated or semi-automated welding equipment strongly preferred.
• Experience with robotics, PLC-controlled equipment, and/or PLC programming preferred.
• Ability to diagnose equipment problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and the ability to apply appropriate safety practices within the scope of maintenance responsibilities.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to support multiple facilities and competing operational needs.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively train and provide technical guidance to equipment operators, supervisors, and fabrication leadership.
• Proven ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with Engineering, Operations, Fabrication, and Maintenance teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineering to develop and maintain VFS maintenance programs.
• Provide maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support for fabrication equipment.
• Travel to assigned facilities to service equipment and provide on‑site support.
• Develop training programs and train operators on machine operation and basic maintenance.
• Maintain an organized library of manuals and specifications.
• Assist with installations, setups, and relocations of fabrication equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and OSHA requirements during maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance.
