Salas O’Brien, Inc. in Los Alamos, NM, seeks two Fabrication Engineers to support the Scorpius program. You will translate drawings and BOMs into procurement needs, coordinate with suppliers, and resolve technical questions for production teams.

The role requires a mechanical/industrial engineering background, ability to read specs, and experience in manufacturing or procurement. Competitive salary and strong benefits are provided.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering or related field.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specs, and BOMs.
• Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, production, or procurement.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical requirements to suppliers and internal teams.
• Familiarity with NCRs, quality documentation, and receipt inspections.
• Strong organizational and cross-functional communication skills.
• Preferred: supplier coordination, mechanical assemblies, configuration control, or quality processes in regulated environments.

• Interpret drawings, specs, and BOMs to identify components and procurement needs.
• Clarify technical requirements for purchasing and supplier coordination to support fabrication schedules.
• Communicate with vendors on component specs and manufacturing questions.
• Provide guidance to vendors to meet engineering requirements.
• Perform receipt inspections against drawings, BOMs, and requirements.
• Document nonconforming materials and coordinate NCRs to resolution.
• Provide day-to-day technical guidance to production on drawings and fabrication questions.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, quality, and production to resolve discrepancies and maintain readiness.
