Job summary

QPS Employment Group in Kansas City, MO is seeking experienced Fabricators for high-volume metal fabrication. You will measure, cut, and assemble components with precision, using grinders, saws, torches, and related equipment. This associate-to-hire role requires reliability and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced shop environment.

Shift options are 1st and 2nd; hours 5:00am-1:30pm and 1:30pm-12am. Wage starts at $18 per hour, with potential for growth based on performance.

Qualifications

• Capable of high-volume production work.
• Ability to measure, cut, and assemble metal components with precision.

Responsibilities

• Operate rotary chop saw and band saw to cut pipe to length.
• Move pipe along table and load to carts or crates for staging.
• Groove pipe ends using Victool or Pace Grooving machine.
• Grind ends with bench grinder for hanger devices.
• Transport pipe on carts to loading area.
• Staple cardboard boxes to pallets with pneumatic staple gun.
• Use forklift to retrieve materials and move pipe.
• Thread pipes with a threader to correct specifications.
• Apply fittings using Mercury or Pace Make on machine.
• Cut threaded rod with band saw to specified lengths.
• Install hanger devices to specified lengths of threaded rod.
• Assist with other tasks as directed by fabrication leadership.

Job description

Position Title: Fabrication

Wage: $18.00/hour

Shift: 1st, 2nd

Hours: 5:00am-1:30pm Monday-Friday, 1:30PM-12AM Monday-Thursday

Looking for experienced Fabricators capable of handling high-volume production work. Candidates must be able to measure, cut, and assemble metal components with precision and efficiency. Proficiency with tools such as grinders, saws, and torches, along with a strong focus on productivity and meeting deadlines in a dynamic work environment is essential. This is an associate to hire opportunity in Kansas City, MO.

Fabrication Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Operate rotary chop saw and band saw to cut pipe to length


• Handle movement of pipe along the length of table and off load to a cart or crate for staging in loading area


• Operate Victaulic or Pace Grooving machine for a grooved pipe end process


• Operate bench grinder to apply required end to threaded rod for application of hanger devices


• Push pipe carts of pipe to load area for loading purposes


• Operate pneumatic staple gun to staple cardboard box to pallet


• Use forklift when necessary to retrieve materials and move pipe


• Operate threader to apply thread to desired pipe


• Operate Mercury or Pace Make on machine in order to apply fitting to desired pipe


• Operate band saw in order to cut threaded rod to specified lengths


• Install hanger devices to specified lengths of threaded rod


• Handle additional tasks necessary to fulfill the needs of the company and the customer as deemed by the fabrication lead, fabrication manager, or branch operations manager

Fabrication Requirements:

• Ability to stand for entire shift


• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds


• Warehouse experience preferred


• Sit-down forklift experience preferred


• Good attendance is a must
