Job summary

Mermet USA is seeking a fabric inspector to join the night shift. You will inspect fabric and components for defects, document readings, and ensure labeling accuracy. The role requires standing for extended periods and lifting up to 30 lbs, with a 12-hour shift from 8pm to 8am.

Position Overview

Fabric inspector inspects manufactured components, ready-madesolar fabric to ensure compliance with quality standards and to identify defects ordeviations from specifications and in order to classify them according to their quality.

Hours of work

This is a Night Shift position with 12-hour shifts from 8pm to 8am. The normal work hours for this position are 12 hour rotating shifts. Over timemight be required.

What you'll do
  • Inspect – Look, measure allowance, trim threads for various sizes and quantity ofproducts following production orders and proper inspecting procedures.
  • Identify and set aside any fabric deviation, flaw, hole, shade, or workmanshipdefect.
  • Load and sew fabric onto the inspection frame with a tugger.
  • Must be able to maintain and understand quality requirements for each piece.
  • Material labeling – Appropriately mark, identify, and label all pieces as requiredand enter information into a data base.
  • Pre-wrap the rolls after being inspecting.
  • Daily cleanliness task of area and tools – Maintain a safe, clean, and orderlyworkstation.
  • Inspect and complete all paperwork for fabric and prepare for shipping.

  • 12 hours shifts. You will be expected to stand for extended periods of time. Thisis not a sit-down position.
  • All other duties as assigned
Who you are
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 1-2 years experience working in a similar position / environment
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have the ability to manage your time
  • Ability to lift, carry, and/or move up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to frequently stand, forward reach, and lift as needed
  • Have the ability to work in an environment where the temperature varies in range
