Job summary

Carole Fabrics, part of the Hunter Douglas family, is seeking a Tunnel Prep associate in Augusta, GA to prepare and inspect fabrics for production. You will verify fabric and lining, measure dimensions, and ensure quality before the tunnel machine, while maintaining safety and a clean work area.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, basic fabric knowledge, and the ability to use tape measures and hand tools. This role requires standing for long periods and lifting fabrics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of fabrics and textile materials.
• Ability to use a tape measure accurately.
• Comfortable using hand tools safely.
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift fabrics repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Receive soft fabric shades from Flat Prep and verify the fabric and lining.
• Measure fabric width and length and check against work tickets.
• Inspect patterns for proper alignment and consistency.
• Remove staples and pins from fabrics.
• Check fabrics returning from the tunnel machine for looseness, puckering, or defects.
• Keep your work area clean and organized, following all safety rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support production.

Position Overview

The Tunnel prep prepares and inspect fabrics for production by checking quality, measuring dimensions, aligning patterns, and ensuring materials are ready for processing in the tunnel machine, while following safety procedures and maintaining a clean work area.
