Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking an operator to produce machined fabric cover parts by programming, setting up, and operating an automated fabric cutting machine. You will maintain quality and safety standards, keep records, and manage equipment and supplies.

The role involves lifting fabric rolls, aligning patterns with Plataine software, changing cutting blades, sorting and bundling parts, and recycling scrap. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

• Roll pre-nested fabric roll onto machine and lift into cradle (2 persons).
• Pull up cut pattern on computer system using Plataine software and line up with joystick.
• Change the circular cutting blade with a screwdriver and Allen wrench (8–10 times daily).
• Sort cut parts as they come off the machine and bundle for sewing; trim attached pieces as needed.
• Collect scrap and place in scrap tray for recycling.
• Unload fabric roll from cradle and place onto the return conveyor.
• Perform other duties or special assignments as instructed.
