Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is hiring a Process Engineer to join the fab engineering group. You will help establish and maintain world-class processes and yield enhancements while identifying complex problems and implementing solutions.

You will monitor wafer fabrication, qualify new tools, coordinate qualifications, analyze data with software, and drive process improvements within a clean room environment.

Qualifications

• Requires BS or MS in engineering or related fields.
• Experience scripting in Python or similar language.
• Understanding of statistical methods.
• Experience with Change Point Management and Lean/TPS/5S.
• Experience with structured problem solving (8D, 7-step).
• Experience with software data analysis tools (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab).
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment or process failures.
• Able to wear clean room PPE and lift <35 lbs in FAB environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor wafer fabrication process and dispositions of production wafers.
• Qualify wafer fabrication processes on new tools.
• Coordinate scheduling of process qualifications and equipment downtime.
• Use software to analyze data and identify process trends.
• Adjust process parameters and monitor tool performance post-maintenance.
• Execute in-line process/equipment changes (CPM).
• Communicate technical information within the department via presentations.
• Revise SOPs and develop improved processes to increase capability.
