Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an equipment engineer to join a team focused on world-class process/equipment and yield enhancement. You will monitor wafer fabrication equipment, qualify new manufacturing tools, and coordinate qualifications and downtime with manufacturing.

Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills are essential for optimizing processes and reducing costs. The role requires 2+ years in engineering and a BS or MS in a relevant field, with experience in Python or

Qualifications

• 2+ years work experience
• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer Science w/3.0 GPA or higher
• Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent language
• Understanding of statistical methods
• Experience with Change Point Management
• Good Presentation and Technical Writing skills
• Understanding of Lean, TPS, or 5S principles
• Exposure to Structure Problem Solving (8D, 7-step, etc..)
• Experience with Data Analysis software (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab, etc.)
• Experience Troubleshooting Equipment or Process failures
• Ability to wear clean room suit and PPE per SAS FAB protocol and lift < 35 lbs

Responsibilities

• Monitor wafer fabrication equipment and respond to issues
• Qualify new manufacturing equipment
• Coordinate scheduling of equipment qualifications and downtime with manufacturing
• Utilize software to analyze data, identify trends to make decisions about processing product
• Adjust equipment parameters as needed when exceeded and monitor process parameters when tools return from maintenance
• Execute in-line changes (CPM) to the process or equipment
• Communicate technical information within the department through presentations
• Continuously revise SOPs
• Develop improved processes to increase capability
• Monitor operations costs and develop cost reduction projects
