Job summary

Western Valley Meat Company is seeking team members for its Fabrication General Production Departments to perform a variety of tasks in the initial stage of meat processing. Starting pay during a 90-day probation is $17.50 per hour, with increases to a range of $19.35–$24.50 depending on the specific role at time of hire.

• Skinning, trimming, sorting, hanging and inspection of carcasses and other edible offal products.
• Loading product into machines, packaging, boxing, labeling and scaling of product.
• Performing general safety and cleanliness procedures in a cold environment (40-49 degrees).

The Fabrication team sets the high standard for the cleanliness and safety of the products we produce.Tasks used to accomplish our goal can include, but are not limited to the following:Position DescriptionUsing tools and equipment such as knives, scissors, saws, scales and other specialized manufacturing equipmentSkinning. Trimming, Sorting, Hanging and Inspection of Carcasses and other edible offal products; etc.Loading Product into machines, packaging, and boxing, labeling and scaling of product.Work Schedules Range from 545am to 615am depending on specific job.Starting Hourly Wage is $17.50 for the 90 day probationary periodPay goes up depending on the specific job awarded at time of hire. Range is $19.35 to $24.50Routine tasks include, but are not limited to, performing the following:Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch and twist while using hands and arms to do simple gripping and grasping.Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, pushing, pulling or carrying objects.Position requires the use of knives and hooks.Cold environment.
