OverviewThe position of General Production Worker is an important role in the daily operations of our facilities. There are a variety of roles and responsibilities within this title. The types of roles available are handling all aspects of the animal including but not limited to, processing meat, trimming, verifying quality and accuracy of products, packaging, weighing and boxing, all while making safety and food safety the number one priorities.ResponsibilitiesWork in various areas of the meat production workflow.Assist in ensuring fundamental food safety and quality practices are maintained to achieve food safety and quality objectives.Support ongoing improvements of food safety programs.Assist in maintaining a clean, safe and organized work environment.Use all safety personal protective equipment and follow all safety procedures and rules.Work Conditions & Physical EnvironmentPerforms repetitive tasks;Fast paced environment;This is a physically demanding position and will require continuous standing for extended periods of time, as well as lifting of 40 lbs.Knife work involves regular repetitive use of hands, wrists, arms, shoulders.Regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise.Sensory Attention: Regular need to give close attention (audio & visual) to surroundings.Work in various areas of the meat production workflow.Ensuring fundamental food safety and quality practices are maintained to achieve food safety and quality objectives.Support ongoing improvements of food safety programs.Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment.Use all safety personal protective equipment assigned and follow all safety procedures and rules.While performing the duties of General Production Worker, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions with slippery surfaces at varied heights; moving mechanical parts; fast paced warm/cool environment.
