City of Houston is seeking a Staff Analyst (Safety Management System) to develop, manage, and administer an FAA-compliant SMS for the Houston Airport System. You will educate internal and external personnel on SMS, update safety policies, analyze metrics, and conduct audits to support HAS objectives and safety culture.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of related experience, with opportunities for advanced education to substitute for experience.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
• Three years of professional administrative, financial, or analytical experience.
• Graduate degrees related to the type of work may substitute for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Aufgaben

• Maintain all aspects of a comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS) in compliance with FAA Part 139.
• Develop policies and procedures in support of the SMS.
• Track implementation of safety recommendations and ensure corrective actions are enacted.
• Conduct Safety Risk Assessments for construction projects, events, and policy changes.
• Investigate accidents and safety incidents and prepare factual root-cause reports with corrective actions.
• Coordinate with FAA, air carriers, airports operations, and other stakeholders.
