Job summary

Peraton in Salt Lake City is seeking a Network Installer to join our FAA-focused team, maintaining and enhancing the network infrastructure behind mission-critical aviation systems.

You’ll ensure uptime, performance, and security of FAA networks, install routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless, and support SD-WAN across distributed environments. This role requires U.S. citizenship, a degree with extensive experience, strong TCP/IP knowledge, and the ability to travel 100% locally.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required with ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience (or equivalent: Master’s 6+, Associate’s 10+, HS 12+).
• Proven experience managing and supporting enterprise network environments.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking technologies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure uptime, performance, and security of FAA network infrastructure.
• Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
• Support SD-WAN solutions across distributed environments.
• Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cabling (single-mode and multi-mode).
• Perform fiber testing using OTDR and certification tools.
• Monitor systems daily, analyze logs, and respond to incidents.
• Troubleshoot network issues across fiber, SD-WAN, and IP layers, escalate as needed.
• Support network cutovers, migrations, and failover validation.
• Maintain accurate network diagrams, documentation, and configuration records.
