Job summary

South Florida Water Management District Flight Department in Wellington, FL seeks an experienced aviation mechanic to diagnose, repair and overhaul turbine helicopters in accordance with manufacturers’ specs and FAA regulations.

Requires High School Diploma or GED, 4+ years’ experience, and Airframe and Power Plant certification. Bell 407/206 experience preferred; duties include in-hangar work with occasional field calls.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 4+ years’ experience servicing, diagnosing, overhauling and repairing turbine helicopters
• Bell 407/206 experience preferred; FAA training a plus
• FAA Aircraft Mechanic Airframe and Power Plant certificate required

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and overhaul turbine helicopters per manufacturers’ specifications and FAA regulations
• Respond to mechanical breakdowns, including field calls when required
• Work primarily in hangar with occasional extended hours and overtime as needed
