Johnson College in Scranton seeks an Airframe and Powerplant Instructor for the FAA-certified 147 Maintenance Program. The role combines classroom presentations and hands-on training, teaching procedures, materials, tools, and equipment used in airframes and power plants.

Qualified candidates hold an FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant Certificate, with teaching experience preferred. The position runs mid-August to mid-May, with full benefits, and reports to the Program Director.

Qualifications

• FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate (airframe or powerplant) required.
• Strong communication and teaching ability; experience preferred.
• Experience with FAA ACS topics and hands-on training.
• Must possess valid driver’s license.
• Physical ability to stand, lift up to 75 pounds; vision requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain student grades and attendance records.
• Deliver instruction in compliance with Part 147 certification.
• Provide instruction based on FAA data and manuals.
• Administer tests and lab projects; maintain lab equipment.
• Assist other instructors with labs as necessary.
• Promote program and procure educational resources and equipment.
• Participate in college activities and campus committees.
