Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an Aviation Maintenance Instructor with FAA Part 147 experience to join our college aviation program. You will teach a full instructional load, deliver FAA-compliant lectures, and mentor students in a lab-rich environment.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in aviation maintenance, 3+ years FAA Part 147 standards, and holds an A&P certification. Strong planning, communication, and collaboration with leadership are essential.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in a relevant field.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 10 years of verifiable aviation maintenance experience.
  • At least 3 years meeting FAA Part 147 standards.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification required.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Strong planning, organization and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and software (MS Office, Google Workspace).

Responsibilities

  • Teach a full instructional load each semester.
  • Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
  • Maintain FAA compliance and training standards.
  • Deliver engaging classroom lectures using FAA-approved lesson plans.
  • Supervise and assess hands-on shop and laboratory activities.
  • Submit accurate grades and attendance records in a timely manner.
  • Participate in faculty meetings and college committees.
  • Support Program Director responsibilities as needed.
