GM Performance Power Units in Concord, NC seeks a Controls Engineering Graduate Placement for a 12-month program, Summer 2027–Summer 2028. You will support development, modeling, simulation, and validation of control systems for a world-class Formula 1 power unit.

Work alongside engineers applying control theory, dynamic-system modeling, data analysis, and model-based development to high-performance hybrid powertrain systems, including real-time and embedded software tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience with MATLAB and Simulink for control-system development and validation.
• Strong foundation in dynamic-system modeling and feedback-control.
• Ability to document assumptions and verify results clearly.
• Proactive collaboration in a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Responsabilités

• Support the development and evaluation of real-time control strategies for power-unit systems.
• Create and test MATLAB and Simulink models for control-algorithm development and simulation.
• Apply principles of feedback control, state-space systems, and optimization.
• Assist with development of control functions for air path, energy management, and hybrid integration.
• Develop scripts in MATLAB, Python, C, or C++ to support modeling and data analysis.
• Document model assumptions, parameters, and test results.
